Johnnie Faye Yates Williams

April 11, 1939 — December 5, 2016

Mrs. Johnnie Faye Yates Williams of Hartford passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 at Flowers Hospital. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Dunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mrs. Williams was born April 11, 1939 in Geneva County to the late Monsee and Dollie McDuffie Yates. Faye possessed a kind and loving spirit always willing to be a caretaker to those in need. She enjoyed gardening, making her flower garden beautiful with her green thumb.  Faye enjoyed being a co-pilot to her husband "Buck" of 51 years on many trips. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed. Faye was a member of Hurricane Creek Baptist Church in the Sweet Gum Head Community.

In addition to her parents, her brother, Jack Yates preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Woodrow "Buck" Williams, Hartford; two daughters: Elizabeth McDuffie (Greg), Westville, FL and Vicki Gardino (Don), Rehobeth;  one son, Rodney Williams, (Lisa), Belton, TX; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters: Frances Pryor (Ralph), Westville, FL and Nancy Peel, Chipley, FL; sister-in-law, Linda Yates, Defuniak Springs, FL; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
