John Marvin Mcallister

Mr. John Marvin McAllister of Slocomb passed away Friday, September 27, 2024, at Southeast Health. He was 72.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Slocomb Rescue Squad.

John was born May 3, 1952, in Dothan, AL.  to the late Wilmer Glenn and Eula Jean McAllister. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved caring for his cattle.

In addition to his parents, his first wife, Dale Williams McAllister; brother, Wilmer Glenn McAllister, Jr. and son, Jamey McAllister preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Mandy McAllister; son, Matt McAllister (Heather); grandchildren: Haley (Craig) Hunt, Ashley (Craig) Black, Joel Awls, John Russell McAllister and Charlotte Dale McAllister; great-grandchildren: Malaina, Makenna and Hayden Hunt; five brothers: Mike McAllister, George Alan McAllister, Donald McAllister, Jimmy McAllister and Timmy McAllister; step-daughter, Jessica R. Smith; special nephews: Stacey and Brian McAllister; along with a host of extended family and friends.
