Jimmy W. Armstrong

Mr. Jimmy W. Armstrong of Hartford passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. He was 69.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at Sardis Church with Dr. Patrick J. Harris and Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until service time. At all other times the family will be meeting at the home of  his sister, Karen McCray, 805 Sardis Rd., Hartford, AL.

Mr. Armstrong was born July 16, 1947 in Hartford to the late Ralph F. and Elva Johnson Armstrong. Jimmy possessed an easygoing spirit and was not afraid of hard work. He was a loving father and brother and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Grace Armstrong, Fayette; one sister, Karen Armstrong McCray, Hartford; two brothers: Frank Armstrong (Peggy), Hartford and Joe Armstrong (Kay), Midland City; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
