Jeanette Adkison Harrison

Mrs. Jeanette Adkison Harrison of New Brockton passed away at Troy Regional Medical Center in Troy, Alabama on Friday, December 6, 2024. She was 87.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13 2024, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

Mrs. Harrison was born January 18, 1937 in Coffee County to the late James and Nettie S. Adkison. Jeanette enjoyed working in her flower garden and listening to country music. John Denver was her favorite country musician.  She also had an eye for jewelry and crystal. She collected many things. Bird watching, in her front yard, was a delight and she called them “her birds”. Jeanette was loved by many, and her absence will leave a void in our hearts.

In addition to her parents, husband, Marvin Dolphus Harrison; two sons: Marvin Scotty Harrison and Randy Lane Harrison, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Janna Carter; grandchildren: Cody Carter, Jessica Bryant, Payton Merriex, Janessa Merriex, Justin Harrison, Amanda Harrison, Marcus Harrison, Toni Avery, and Tracy Avery; and other extended family and friends.
