Jeanette Cassady Gainey

Mrs. Jeanette Cassady Gainey of Slocomb passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Flowers Hospital. She was 78.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb. Burial will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Born  April 1, 1937, Jeanette lived her early years in Florida before moving to Alabama. She enjoyed as her hobbies: fishing, making floral arrangements and spending time on her computer. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, J.B. Davis and Wanda Sorrells Webb; her husband, James Carbin Gainey and daughter, Wanda "Dee" Ortiz all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Kenneth Cassady (Tracy), Spring, TX; five grandchildren: Noni Woods, Weston Cassady, Alex Cassady, April Ortiz and Toni Ortiz; 2 great grandchildren: Blake and Cade Woods; other extended family and friends.
