James Lee Peters

Mr. James Lee Peters of Cowarts passed away Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home. He was 63.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Bro. Bob Negley officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the chapel on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.

Mr. Peters was born December 7, 1960 in Donalsonville, GA to Jimmy and Sylvia Chancy Peters.

Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Peters.

Survivors include his mother, Sylvia Peters; children: Jason Shell (Abbie), Hannah Peters, Lee Peters (Ashley), John Calvin Peters, and Clayton Peters; grandchildren: Anna and Ella Hutto, Liam, Ezra, and Lucy Peters; siblings: Ronnie Peters (Vicki), Linda Hodges (Mitch), Maxwell Peters (Sherry), Shelia Killingsworth, and Charlotte Walden (Jerry); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
