James William Hendrix, of Slocomb, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at his home encircled by his loving family. He was 69.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Place of Grace Church in Slocomb with Pastor Wendell Holmes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Place of Grace Church 181 Railroad Ave. Slocomb, AL 36375.

Mr. Hendrix was born on September 15, 1956 in Slocomb, Alabama to the late Alvie and Elma Hendrix and was one of three children. James and his beloved sweetheart, Diondela, met through mutual friends and were married for 19 years. He had a career with Acme Roofing and Sheet metal for over 20 years. Together with his wife, they were co-founder of Double H Beef. One of James greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife and family at the farm. James will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, and love for his family.

In addition to his parents; son, Tyler Hendrix; daughter, Nancy Hendrix (Darty); brothers: Gerald Hendrix, Amzy Gene Hendrix; and niece, Bobby Jean Hendrix all preceded him in death.

James leaves behind a large family including his wife, Diondela Hendrix; daughters: Jamie Hamm, Emily Dudenski; sons: Scotty Hendrix (Sammi White), Colby Hendrix (Amber Hooks), Austin Hughes (Jessica), Damian Crutchfield, and Dylan Hendrix; twenty-five grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Debra Hendrix; niece, Ashlea Hendrix; nephew, Adam Hendrix; one great niece; four great nephews, and other extended family and friends.
