James Ronald "Bud" Byrd

Mr. James Ronald “Bud” Byrd of Slocomb passed away Thursday, July 2, 2020 at his home. He was 67.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Carpenter officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

James was born January 30, 1953 in Geneva County to the Margaret Hollaway Byrd and the late Frank Byrd. He worked for Dowling Lumber Company for 46 years. James’s hobbies were to fish and ride four- wheelers.

Survivors include his mother, Margaret Byrd; brothers and sisters: Margie Morgan (Larry), Carolyn Anderson, Jerry Byrd (Donna), Lynda Quick, and Terry Byrd; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
