Hugh Milton "Shep" Sheppard

Mr. Hugh Milton "Shep" Sheppard of Hartford went home to be with the LORD, Friday, March 2, 2018 at SAMC.  He was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Hartford First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Glen Tate and Rev. David Hall officiating.  Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.   The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to service time.  Mr. Sheppard was born July 3, 1932 in Blue Springs, Alabama.  "Shep" served his country honorably in the United States Air Force for 21 years and was employed as an electrician for the City of Dothan until his retirement.  He enjoyed carpentry and building things with his hands.  He was a man of faith, member of Hartford First Assembly of God Church and will be dearly missed.   Survivors include his wife, Jean Myers Sheppard, Hartford; children: Deborah Ann Shockley (Rick), Panama City Beach, FL, Kathi Ellen Schilling, Destin, FL, Alan Keith Sheppard, Dothan, Kevin James Sheppard (Dee), Newton, Mitchell Stanaland (Susan), Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Michael Stanaland (Lori), Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; other extended family and friends.
