Ms. Gloria J. Sapp went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 while surrounded by her loving family. She was 78.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 200 P.M. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home Slocomb with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Daleville Memorial Gardens, Daleville, AL. with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will begin receiving friends at 12:00 noon and continuing until service time.

Gloria was born on November 2, 1947, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Earl Edward Graham and Doris Christeen Weeks Graham.

In the early 1970s, Gloria moved to Daleville, Alabama, with her young family, where she embraced the roles of wife, homemaker, and mother. She spent most of her adult life in Daleville, raising children while faithfully serving both her family and her community.

Later in life, Gloria answered a new calling by becoming an EMT with the Daleville Police Volunteer Rescue Squad. For 35 years, she selflessly sacrificed her time and energy in service to others. In addition to her volunteer EMT duties, Gloria worked full-time as a dental hygiene assistant. After long days at work, she would come home for a brief cup of coffee and an episode of Wheel of Fortune before responding to emergency calls that often kept her serving into the early morning hours, only to begin another workday a few hours later. In recognition of her extraordinary dedication, Gloria was honored with a Life Membership—one of the few ever awarded. Throughout her life, she had long known Jesus, but later she developed a stronger, deeper, and more personal relationship with Him. Her greatest passion became sharing her faith and making sure others knew Him as she did. She was often heard saying, "Let me tell you about my Jesus!" Though Gloria has left this earthly life, her testimony lives on through the countless lives she touched. Her unwavering love for her Savior, her family, and her community never faltered.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her sister, Angela Graham; her brother, Eddie Graham and his wife, Kathy; her father-in- law and mother-in-law, Theo and Edwana M. Sapp; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Luellen Sapp; the love of her life and best friend of 29 years, Charles "Jerry" Sapp.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her loving family, her daughters: Michelle Powell (Willy), Tori Richards, Amanda Owens (Ray), Crissy Sapp (Logan Barlett), and Heather Sapp (Steven Baxley); her son, Charles G. "Jerry" Sapp, Jr.; her grandchildren: Allen England (Lindsey), Tyler Cole, Alex Raggi, Kayedance Baxley, Hudson Richards, Ryker Ferreira, Kane Ferreira, Braylee Baxley, Wyatt Bartlett, and Zoey Bartlett; her brother, Jim Graham; her half-sisters: Wanda Beck, Sherrie Appleby, and Kim Graham; her brother-in-law, Larry Sapp (Janice) and Edwin Sapp (Judy); her sister-in-law, Edwana Hagler; best friend and “Partner In Crime” for over 30 years, Marie J. Powell  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude for all the love and care given to Ms. Gloria, or Mama Glo, as she was referred to while she was at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.
