Glenda Faye Bateman

Mrs. Glenda Faye Bateman of Hartford went home to be with her family in heaven on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was 72.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Bateman was born November 5, 1950 to the late Lester Joe Powell and Malvia Lee Blackmon Powell.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Alex Woodard Bateman; son, Billy Ray Carmichael; daughter, Glenda Ann Carmichael; four sisters: Joyce Powell, Mary Annette Powell, Lessie Smith, and Donnie Trim; brothers: Junior Powell, and L.P. Powell all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons: Alex Ray Bateman, Lester Raylee Bateman, and Lester James Carmichael; grandchildren: Kasey Bush, Kevin Bateman, Joshua Bateman, Kimberly Bateman, Krista Bateman, Montana Carmichael, Shiana Carmichael, Billy McDonald, Brianna Padgett, and Gregory Carmichael; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Bateman; sisters: Elizabeth Patterson, and Martha Powell; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
