Gerald Richard Sorrells

Mr. Gerald Richard Sorrells of Hartford passed away March 3, 2024 at his daughter’s home in Kernersville, North Carolina. He was 87.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb.

The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. continuing until service time.

Gerald was born June 28, 1936 in Hartford to the late Willis and Jewell Tyndal Sorrells. He moved to Florida at an early age where he began work in Law Enforcement in Winter Haven, FL.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Beverly Sorrells, brother, Billy Joe Sorrells, grandson, Christopher Linc Magrum, and granddaughter, Nicole Magrum, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Joni Lynn (Larry); step-son, Mark Yankie (Melissa); step-daughter, Kathy Purse (Kenny); sister-in-law, Linda Sorrells; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
