Gary Bateman

Mr. Gary Bateman of Sunland Center in Marianna, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, April 7, 2018. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Charles King officiating.  Interment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Gary was born on May 31, 1949 in Geneva County to the late Benjamin and Mendy Hall Bateman.  In addition to his parents, brothers:  Alec, Joseph, Bobby Earl Bateman and Wayne Bateman; sisters:  Willie Pearl Hall, Betty J. Powell and Mary Merritt all preceded him in death. Survivors include one brother, Wade B. Bateman; one sister,  Blondell Hale; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
