Faye Jeanette Blanchard

Mrs. Faye Jeanette Blanchard of Dothan passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Flowers Hospital. She was 86.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Woody Farrington and her nephew, Bro. Dustin Mendheim officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in the Thurston Community with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Blanchard was born February 23, 1930  in Geneva County to the late Arthur Dewey and Trixie Dixon Owens. Faye was a woman of faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Dothan. She loved to travel and was a caring mother and adoring grandmother who was always there for her family.

In addition to her parents, two brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters: Beverly McNutt, Port Huron, MI and Melanie Riley, Greenwood, FL; three sons: Morgan Hicks (Glenda), Cottondale, FL, Gary Blanchard Jr. (Chris), Dothan and Hugh Blanchard (Vickie), Newton; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four sisters; one brother, several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
