Evelyn Myrl Maddox

Evelyn Myrl Maddox of Slocomb passed away Monday, September 2, 2024 at her home. She was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Lawrence Register officiating. Burial will follow in the Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Maddox was born June 12, 1939 in Fadette, AL to the late Clayton Oliver and Onice Wynell Johnson Keel.  Evelyn retired from Slocomb Schools as a teachers aid. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.

In addition to her parents her husband, Howard R. Maddox; sisters: Ina Jeanete Norton, and Myrtle Sue Rehanek; brothers: Billy Carl Keel, John Perry Keel, and Leon Virgil Keel all preceded her in death.

Survivors include daughter, Lisa Lunceford; son, Raymond Maddox; granddaughter, Amanda Reynolds; grandson, Billy Ray Maddox; great granddaughters: Avanna Reynolds, and Emily Reynolds; great grandson, Bradley Reynolds; sister, Martha Elder; brother, Gene Keel; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
