Earline Lassiter

Mrs. Earline Lassiter of Slocomb passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at her home. She was 91.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Keith Sewell and Rev. Larry Newton officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

Mrs. Lassiter was born April 25, 1930 in Geneva County to the late A.B. “Samp” and Ozell Phillips Smith. Mrs. Lassiter attended Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and was a 1948 graduate of Slocomb High School. She was employed by Gold Kist until her retirement. She enjoyed working in her yard, growing flowers, and cooking for her family. She loved her grandchildren dearly and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, W.H. “Dick” Lassiter; grandson, Kevin Sewell; daughter-in-law, Sherry Lassiter and sister, Mary Francis Smith all preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters: Brenda Barrentine (Michael), and Phyllis Sewell (Randy); three sons: Tim Lassiter, Ronnie Lassiter (Sherry), and Kenneth Lassiter (Rhonda); sister; Pat Roland (Pete) grandchildren: Dianne Lassiter (Steve), Keith Sewell (Hope), Janet Hood (Tim), Bradley Sewell (Janell), Laura Lassiter, Timmy Lassiter (Melanie), Ryan Lassiter (Jessica), Pam Lassiter, Garret Barrentine, and Marlene Lassiter (Johnny); twenty great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren;); special friend, Rose Sewell; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
