Mrs. Dorothy Louise Tomlin of Hartford peacefully departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the age of 91, embraced by the loving presence of her family.
A celebration of Mrs. Tomlin’s remarkable life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Geneva Holiness Church. Reverend Cliff Foster will officiate the service, with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb honored to assist. Following the service, interment will take place at the Highfalls Assembly of God Church Cemetery. The family warmly invites friends to join them at the church beginning one hour prior to the service.
Born in Newport, Arkansas, on January 8, 1935, to the late Hulet and Edna Smith Brooks, Louise was a devoted servant of God whose steadfast faith illuminated every facet of her life. A true “Saint” of God, she embodied the boundless love of Christ through both deed and spirit. Mrs. Tomlin found joy and fulfillment in quilting, sewing, and crocheting, and her gracious Southern hospitality blessed her family with countless memorable meals. Her affection for simple pleasures extended to fishing—both the pursuit and the enjoyment of fish—and she took great delight in tending her vegetable and flower gardens.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louie Tomlin; her son, Herman Tomlin; and her siblings Martha Ingalls, Edna Brooks, Leroy Brooks, Lloyd Brooks, Barbara Brooks, and Christine Brooks.
Mrs. Tomlin leaves behind a legacy rich in love and cherished memories through her son Kenneth Tomlin; daughter-in-law Patricia Tomlin; grandchildren Tammy Brock (David), Jason Tomlin, and Jessica Padget (Scott); great-grandchildren Justin Brock (Breanna), Gracie Albritton (Ethan), Hannah Hughes, and Donnie Hughes; great-great-grandchildren Jackson Brock, Delilah Brock, and Murphy Albritton; sister Francis Wakeland (Les); niece Ginger Borja (Luciano); her devoted church family; and a wide circle of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory dear.
The life of Mrs. Dorothy Louise Tomlin stands as a testament to faith, love, and dedication, leaving an enduring mark on all who were privileged to know her. Her gentle spirit and noble heart will continue to inspire those who carry forward her treasured legacy.
