Dorothy Gilbert Cooley

Mrs. Dorothy Gilbert Cooley, 85 of Black, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center & Nursing Home in Geneva.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 in the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Holmes County, Florida with Rev. Jessie Hobbs officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Mrs. Cooley was born March 27, 1933 in Holmes County to the late C.W. and Ruby Williams Gilbert. She was a loving mother, adoring grandmother, and a wonderful sister who will be dearly missed.  In addition to her parents, her husband, William E. Cooley III; sister, Kathryn McGowan, and one brother, Eugene Gilbert all preceded her in death.  Survivors include sons: William E. Cooley IV (Selene) and Leslie W. Cooley (Martha Reynolds); grandchildren: Alisha Reynolds, Debbie Reynolds, and Amy Glover; great grandchildren: Jami, Linsey, Makala, Austin, Dalton, Klayton, Zack, and Taven; siblings: Gaynell Yates, Wynell Gilmore (Hubert), Clayton Gilbert (Christine), Winston Gilbert (Barbara Jean), and Eddie Gilbert (Patsy); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
