David Wayne Strange

Mr. David Wayne Strange of Hartford passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Flowers Hospital.  He was 76.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 7, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Teddy Ward officiating.  Interment will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time.

Mr. Strange was born November 28, 1947 in Knoxville, TN to the late Aubrey and Mabel Evans Strange. David was a United States Army veteran and proudly served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting pool.  He had a way of getting under your skin and enjoyed pestering in a loving way. You could always find David drinking coffee at Hardees in the mornings.

In addition to his parents, one brother, Henry Stange preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving partner of 28 years, Helen Houston; children: Paul Strange (Kelli), Rick Voss (Kim), and Kym Adams (Glen); grandchildren: Amy Kathryn Battles (Cole), Wes Strange, Lydia Strange, Lanie Strange, Ryan Jordan (Jessica), Jessica Harper (Jeremy), Jared Jordan (Clara), Aaron Carter (Tori), and Raina Voss; nine great grandchildren; sisters: Brenda Welch, and Jaynelle Potter; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
