Charles Lee Wood

Mr. Charles Lee Wood of Wicksburg passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Flowers Hospital. He was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Goodwater Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Jeff Lunsford officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Mr. Wood was born April 25, 1932 in Coffee County to the late Jack and Annie Lee Brannen Wood. Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Army, enjoyed spending time in his garden and loved to fish.  He was a loving husband and adoring father and grandfather who will be profoundly missed.  In addition to his parents, his son, Bruce Wood and two brothers: Lloyd and Herbert Wood all preceded him in death.  Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Nora Kiser Wood; son, Tim Wood; grandchildren: Holli Wood, Christi Wood, Aubrey Wood and Cade Wood; daughter-in-law, Linda Wood Johnson (Jerry); brother, Bennie Wood; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
