Obituary

Mrs. Carrie Clark Kelly passed peacefully from this life into her eternal home on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by her loving family at Flowers Hospital.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home, with Reverend Larry Newton and Father Gallagher officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Slocomb City Cemetery. Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb is directing the arrangements.

Carrie was born on September 5, 1940, in Graceville, Florida, to the late Charlie Hansom Clark and Willie Viola Watford Clark. She was a devoted homemaker who lovingly cared for her family through her dedication to her home and her gift for sewing. Above all, she treasured spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Clyde Kelly; her brother, Charles Clifford Clarkson; and her son-in-law, Stephen Patrick McCarty.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Margaret Ann Kelly Markle (Robert); her grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth Griffin (Phillip), Abbey Rebekah Walker (Josh), Brandi Markle, Robert Markle Jr., Michael Markle (Jenny), and Steven Markle; her great-grandchildren, Lukas Griffin, Lauren Griffin, Leigha Griffin, Tagen Ingram, Bryce Ingram, and Jaymisen Walker; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Carrie's love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the generations who were blessed by her love.
