Carolyn Sue Hughes

Mrs. Carolyn (Carol) Sue Hughes of Slocomb passed away Monday, October 1, 2018 after an extended battle with her loving family at her side. She was 70.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 5, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Hughes was born August 2, 1948 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late Mary Christine Walker and Russel Garvin Post. Carolyn worked for over 20 years as a Medical Transcriptionist until her retirement. She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, painting, and loved flowers.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Garry Hughes Sr. and her grandmother, Bertha Walker all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons: Garry Wayne Hughes Jr., Jeffrey Allen Hughes, Cameron David Hughes (Ania), and Jesse Hughes; grandchildren: Craig, Michelle, Austin, Azlynn, JW, and Amber; great grandchildren: Brayden, Aiden, Raelynn, Micheal, Chloe, Cameron, and Caylee; six sisters; four brothers; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
