Calvin England

Mr. Calvin England of Slocomb passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Flowers Hospital. He was 76.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. England was born March 17, 1947 in Fulton County GA to the late James A. and Lois M. Kell England. He served honorable in the US Navy including a tour in Vietnam. Calvin had a passion for guitars and guns and was the owner of Slocomb Gun & Pawn. He never met a stranger and would help anyone he could.

In addition to his parents, brother, Tommy England preceded him in death.

Survivors include the love of his life, Joan Bateman; sister, Debbie England; brothers: Frank England (Liz), and Sam England (Long); several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
