Mr. BT West of Slocomb passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Slocomb City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Slocomb, AL.

Mr. West was born November 24, 1930 in Houston County to the late Homer and Angeline Godwin West. BT enjoyed fishing and working outdoors. He was a member of Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, three sisters: Ella Mae Saliba, Della Mae Holland and Sybil Harrell preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Peters West, Slocomb; two sons: Paul David West (Caylon), Slocomb and James Homer West (Kim), Malvern; grandchildren: Haden West Smith (Zalin), Malvern, Payne West, Malvern and Anna Layne West, Slocomb; sister, Berlie Cook, Taylor; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
