Bobby “Red” Flournoy of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 22, 2021 at Flowers Hospital. He was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Church with Rev. Johnny Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to service time.
Mr. Flournoy was born October 8, 1939 in Geneva County to the late Lee and Indie Skipper Flournoy. Bobby was a lifelong resident of the Fadette Community, a 1957 graduate of Slocomb High School and retired from WTVY-TV after 33 years. Having a love for sports, Bobby was an avid softball player and even coached for many years.
In addition to his parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Phyllis Adams Flournoy; son, Todd Flournoy (Laresa); grandchildren, Ethan Flournoy (Morgan), Emma Flournoy; one great-granddaughter, Finley Kate Flournoy; one sister, June Cooley (Don); a special first cousin, Brenda Stefin and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald Brannon, Tim Tew, Paul Flournoy, Billy Joe Flournoy, Eddie Perkins, Zach Little
