Betty Tew Ready

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mrs. Betty Tew Ready of Hartford, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the age of 87.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Burns Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing, honoring a life dedicated to faith, family, and the enduring values of a true Southern lady and devoted homemaker.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s honor to Gentiva Hospice, 2431 West Main Street, Suite 1102, Dothan AL 36301.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Melvin and Ruth Collins Tew, as well as her devoted husbands, Charles Justice and Junior Ready. She also mourned the loss of her daughter, Vicki Chalker, and her son, Terry Justice.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her sons, Rickey Justice (Gail), and Phillip Justice (Deborah); her son-in-law, Mike Chalker; and her treasured grandchildren, Jill Bertella (Brian), Brent Justice (Jenna), Brooke Smith (Will), Corey Justice (Georgia), Shanna Adams (Jonathan), Lorin Gomez (Tony), Brandee Brunson, and Blair Brown (Dave). In addition, she is survived by several great-grandchildren and many special friends, including a host of extended family and friends.

Betty's unwavering spirit and love for her family will be dearly remembered by all who knew her. As we celebrate her life, we find comfort in the joy she brought to our lives and the faith that guided her every step.
