Betty Jean Orr

Mrs. Betty Jean Orr of Hartford passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Southeast Health. She was 82.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Hartford Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Spivey and Rev. Les Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Hartford Baptist Church, 105 East Burch Street, Hartford, AL 36344 in memory of Mrs. Orr.

Mrs. Orr was born November 2, 1936 in Houston County to the late Rufus and Allie Mae Posey Jackson. Betty was a high-spirited lady who loved to laugh and have a good time. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed piddling with her flowers. Betty was a loving wife, mother and adoring grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, her son James Stephen Orr preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, James W. Orr; daughter, Kathy Lee (Larry); son, James Buddy Orr; grandchildren: Breanna Herring (Robert), Amanda Williams (Cody), Rachel Lee, Emily Justice (Tyler) and Adam Orr; great grandchildren: Lillian Justice, Landon Herring and Wyatt Williams; brother, Johnny Jackson (Dot); special friend, Barbara Jones; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
