Betty Joyce Boyett

Mrs. Betty Joyce Boyett of Slocomb passed away Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Southeast Health. She was 72.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Boyett was born September 20, 1946 in Houston County to the late Thomas Rush Wilson and Hazel Barfield Wilson Tumlinson. Betty loved flowers and enjoyed fishing. She was a great woman of faith, adored singing gospel music, and spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.

Survivors include two sons: Sam McClendon (Brandy) and Chris McClendon (Susan); grandchildren: Haley McClendon, Collins McClendon, Christy Creamer, Shane McClendon, Tasha McClendon, Nicole McClendon, Aseena McClendon, Brianna Anderson, and Kyndall Anderson: several great grandchildren; five sisters; five brothers; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
