Allen R. Hall

Mr. Allen R. Hall of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Wesley Manor Retirement Home surrounded by his family. He was 80.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Parker and Rev. Robert Risner officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Mr. Hall was born September 28, 1936 in Geneva County to the late Walter A. and Ester Mae McCoy Hall. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Allen, began his working years with Southern Foods in Columbus, GA later, working for Sunnyland Packing Company for a number of years. He also worked for Perdue before his retirement. He enjoyed his CB radio, loved spending time with his family, gardening and watching all of the old westerns.

In addition to his parents, two brothers: Lester C. and Willis Hall preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Katie Jane Hall, Slocomb; four daughters: Mary Jane Anderson (John), Hartford, Judy Hall, Pensacola, FL, Phyllis S. Bass (Sammy), Faydette and Wanda Kay Risner (Rev. Robert), Slocomb; one son, Jimmy A. Hall, Slocomb; one brother, Donny Hall (Patricia), Slocomb; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
