Mr. James Allen Coe of Napier Field passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 91. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Scotty Scott officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. 

Mr. Coe was born January 15, 1933 in Geneva County to the late Luther Martin and Alice Naomi Bush Coe.  James was a proud United States Air Force veteran and was employed as an aircraft mechanic until his retirement. He was a loving husband, adoring father and grandfather and will be dearly missed. 

In addition to his parents, siblings: Agnes Mills, John Coe, Robert Coe and Franklin Coe; and grandson, Matt Fair, all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Dorothy Hidle Coe; daughter, Julie Coe Ross (John); sons: Kenneth James Coe (Sarah), Dennis Randal Coe (Dede), and Michael Allen Coe (Alicia); grandchildren: Christopher Ross (Liesl), Matthew Ross (Rachel), Abby Ross-Kennedy (Dylan), Jenna Mead, Katie Coe, Jenny Coe, Thomas Coe (Demi), Sarah Beth Coe, and Anne Marie Coe; great grandchildren: Conner, Nolen, Adaleigh, Carlia, and Banner; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St Jude Children’s Hospital or the cemetery fund at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, PO BOX 1149 Slocomb AL 36375.
